“Have Fun” by Reading Books and Manifest Faster

Manic Manifesting is Counter To Goals
People like Gabby Bernstein talk about “manic manifesting”. How when we are in a space of desperation we are not going to be able to attract what we are wanting to attract because desperation is lack of trust and relaxation is trust and therefore abundance. Keeping that in mind, Gabby recommends to her clients who cannot stop obsessing about getting what they want, to go do something”fun”. Working every day to manifest goals is a good thing, but not counting anything else in life as worthy of attention until that goal is achieved means the vibration behind the manifestation is desperation. If like attracts like, then desperate attracts more desperate. In addition to focusing on goals, there needs to be room for gratitude, joy, and other things that make life rich.
Books are Manifesting Tools
Readers, those whose natural tendency to pick up books for joyful purposes have a perfect tool. Readers can use books to take them out of the obsession and into an alternative place, with other people, and experience those other things for a while. Stepping into a story works as a master manifesting tool because it relaxes your body. According to Homa Warren in her Baylor College of Medicine article “Mindful Reading and Mental Health” , “Mindful reading is focused on the act of reading itself, with no necessary destination or goal other than to be aware of and attend to what you are reading in that moment and being fully present. “ She also points out, “Many people engage in reading for mental health purposes whether they are aware of it or not. Reading helps to reduce stress and anxiety and takes your mind away from other things happening in your environment.”
Why “Go Have Fun” Isn’t the Best Advice for Over-thinkers

Gabby’s advice to go “have fun” isn’t so easy to the desperate and obsessed. I personally have a difficult time shifting my gears, especially if what I am trying to manifest will solve problems in my life that are crucial to my happiness. I can’t just go out for dinner, or play a game of mini golf. I do go for runs because it helps with stress, but running is an activity that gives me time to think about it even more. One thing that I do that works is read a book. Books can put us into an immersive “flow state” and in a way is like the original virtual reality. When we are immersed in a story that brings us pleasure, we are experiencing the story in a way that causes our brains to produce the dopamine and Oxytocin chemicals which are the same chemicals produced when we are having “fun”.
Khiron Cliniques’, a trauma recovery center, website describes these happy chemicals as D.O.S.E. “D.O.S.E. is the acronym for the major chemicals in our brains that influence our happiness. The brain’s happy chemicals. These chemicals are Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, and Endorphins. On both a biological and a mental level, the release of these chemicals makes us happy. This happiness leads us to want more happiness. These chemicals make us want more of the same chemicals.” Gabby is absolutely correct that the best thing to do when we notice that we are in a state of desperation is to go and have fun. Like attracts like. Happiness sends the message to the universe to send us back more happy.
The problem with Gabby’s message isn’t the message in and of itself. She is right, having fun changes the vibration and is the fastest way to manifest what we want. The problem is that telling someone to “go have fun” can actually add more pressure to their current situation. It can feel dismissive of the emotional state that is causing the need for fun in the first place. Manic manifestors are already doing a lot to make their goals come to fruition. “Go have fun” is another “to do” that is vague. It can lead to more overthinking and more desperation. While attempting a “fun” activity it can cause someone to spend the entire time wondering if they are having the right kind of fun. Or if they are having enough fun.
Instead of “Go Have Fun” Read a Book
People who struggle with overthinking, manic manifesting, and not knowing if they know what “fun” is, need a tool. As Homa Warren pointed out, readers are participating in a mental health activity “whether they know it or not”, and reading for pleasure produces those same “fun” neurochemicals and hormones. Readers who happen to be overthinkers, or experiencing stressful life moments where they might be trying to “manic manifest” can use what they already have to shift their vibrational attraction. Books are a manifesting tool because they can act as the “fun” required to send the happier message to the universe.
